1000 piece jigsaw puzzles for adults are a wonderful way of disconnecting from the world and spending time with family and friends. During this pandemic, puzzle nights have been our saving grace from the copious amount of time we have to spend at home.
In our home, we decided to have a night where we disconnect from all devices and spend quality with the family. Everyone needs a break from Hulu and Netflix and all the other distractions that stop us from spending time actually talking to one another.
Our little one is not ready for board games, so we set out the puzzle on a puzzle mat and watch him play with dinosaurs while we sit back and talk with each other while piecing together these puzzles. Then we simply roll up the mat at the end of the night.
When the puzzles are completed, we end up with beautiful art for our walls. We are racking up quite a collection!
When we do have family and friends over, they like to help piece the puzzle together as we share stories and get up to date on the latest news.

Did you know?
Puzzles where sold in the 1800s under the name “dissected maps” and “dissected puzzles.” For this reason, a “dissectologist” is a person who enjoys assembling jigsaw puzzles.
There are even health benefits to playing with puzzles as it is a complete brain exercise. It exercises both the left and right side of the brain. While putting puzzles together, both sides of the puzzle must work together. This sort of exercise helps to prevent cognitive decline.
For example it increases spatial reasoning, problem solving abilities and puts focus on greater attention to detail. It improves memory, hand eye coordination, and even increases IQ.
In some cases playing with puzzles even lowers stress levels.
Playing also promotes teamwork if you are working with other people.’
“There are no extra pieces in the universe. Everyone is here because he or she has a place to fill, and every piece must fit itself into the big jigsaw puzzle.” -Deepak Chopra-

Now For A little Joke…
A little, silver-haired lady calls her neighbor and says, “Please come over here and help me. I have a very difficult jigsaw puzzle, and I can’t figure out how to get started.”
Her neighbor asks, “What is it supposed to be when it’s finished?”
The little lady says, “According to the picture on the box, it’s a rooster.”
Her neighbor decides to go over and help her with the puzzle. When he arrives, the old lady shows him the puzzle spread out all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says:
“First of all, no matter what we do, we’re not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster.” Then he takes her hand and says, “Secondly, I want you to relax. Let’s have a nice cup of tea, and then…” and he says this with a deep sigh…
“Let’s put all the Corn Flakes back in the box.”
I love to put puzzles together, I use to spend hours and days with my Grandfather putting a puzzle together. We put a few up on the wall but there were just too many over the years. You know, they should be making puzzles with ALL the pieces in it.
You are correct, putting puzzles together is a great way to develop the brain. It’s also a great way to teach young kids to have patience in life and how to stick with a project till it’s finished.
I love your joke by the way, it was awesome.
Thanks for the reminder, I want to put a puzzle together now.
I love to put together puzzles! This is my favorite activity. In the evening I play with them on the phone application, but this text gave me the idea that I could buy them. Here I found a lot of very nice pictures, and demanding of over 1000 parts, which makes me especially happy. Puzzles are a useful game that exercises the brain. It is better to buy to me and my child a box of puzzles like this than to spend his free time surfing the internet. Thank you for taking me back to my childhood with this text! Regards, Danijela
Loved the joke!
I have always liked puzzling, but like many others, picked it back up during the lockdown at the beginning of last year.
It’s interesting to know there’s a formal term for puzzle fanatics!
I really like the Rainy Night and Milky Way. I bet the Milky Way puzzle is a challenge though with limited colors and not much of an outline. The price is pretty great too, I might have to convince my partner into the challenge with me!
